Comment: RED, AMBER, GREEN. RED, AMBER GREEN. RED, AMBER GREEN. One flightless bird rents the early morning stillness. The traffic lights flash but there is no automotive snake stopping there. Prior to the beauty of the dawn chorus, a bum sings a lost lament to an emptied bottle. A jangled can is blown along the deserted highway. Tarmac arteries are staunched - bereft of the lifeblood that flows to the heart of the city.
